PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device to use a direct acting damper even in a narrow installation spot. SOLUTION: A damper 16 is mounted on a building 14, a rod 26 is reciprocated along the wall surface of the building 14, and a sufficient stroke id ensured. One end of an arm 30 is rotatably coupled to the rod 26, and the other end of the arm 30 is rotatably coupled to the building 12. The two arms 30 draw a triangle and amplifies a relative movement amount between the buildings 14 and 12. When the buildings 14 and 12 are relatively moved by the relative movement amount, the amount is amplified by the arm 30, a moving direction is converted in a 90 deg. arc and the amount is transmitted to the rod 26 of the damper 16. This constitution causes reciprocation of the rod 26 to provide a damping force and controls the vibrations of the buildings 14 and 12.
