PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable purification of water passing through a caisson in the case when the water is polluted water. SOLUTION: A space 19 is formed inside a caisson 11. A channel 25 for taking polluted water into the space 19 by a force of waves and aerating it is provided. Gravel 30 for applying purification by inter-gravel contact oxidation to the polluted water introduced into the space 19 are disposed in this space 19. A discharge passage 29 for discharging the water purified by the gravel 30 outside the caisson 11 from the space 19 is provided.
