CONSTITUTION: The speed profile as a target speed of the next driving during searching is generated by a target speed generation section(149), and a tracking actuator (132) is driven by using a differential signal between the target speed and the moving speed of an optical beam calculated by a moving speed detection section(141) by using a pulse signal obtained by binarizing a TE signal. A linear motor (139) is driven by using the differential signal obtained from the target speed and the moving speed. The tracking actuator (132) is so controlled as to restrict the movement of a converging lens(107) during searching and the linear motor(139) is so controlled as to follow the target speed and is moved during searching.
