IMPROVEMENT IN WASHABILITY OF COATED BELT HAVING NEEDLE- PUNCHED WEB ON ITS INSIDE SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer belt that is readily washable through a normal cleaning method, since the belt has a needle-punched web with no tendency to hold small pieces of paper on its inside surface. SOLUTION: The polymer resin-coated belts are used in the paper-making process, for example, as a sheet transfer belt, a long nip press belt or a calendering belt and include a reinforcing base material of an endless loop type having the front side and the back side. The reinforcing base material is coated on the front side with a polymer resin material, while the back side is lined with staple fiber pad 90. The staple fiber pad has no exceeding fiber end, but a smoothly molten surface, thus this surface can be easier kept clean than that of the conventional staple fiber pad.
