PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a resin composition for powder coating having respectively specific glass transition temperature and number average molecular weight, and excellent in waterproofness appearance, thermosetting property, impact resistance and weather resistance by including a specific vinyl-based copolymer and a curing catalyst as essential ingredients. SOLUTION: This resin composition for powder coating is prepared by including (A) 100 pts.wt. vinyl-based copolymer obtained through copolymerizing (i) 1-30 pts.wt. vinyl-based monomer having silyl groups of the formula [R1 is a 1-10C alkyl, a 6-10C aryl, or the like; X is H, a halogen, an alkoxy, or the like; (a) is 0-2],(ii) 0.1-10 pts.wt. vinyl-based monomer having a hindered amine structure and (iii) 98.9-60 pts.wt. other copolymerizable vinyl-based monomer and (B) 0.001-10 pts.wt. curing catalyst as essential ingredients. The ingredient A has silyl groups of the formula as principal crosslinkable groups, and has 40-100 deg.C glass transition temperature and 2,000-20,000 number average molecular weight.
