PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject impression material suppressed in the increase with time of flowability (sag) due to its own weight while keeping soft touch in its kneading operation by including dibutylhydroxytoluene. SOLUTION: This impression material is obtained by including (A) 5-25 wt.% of an alginic acid salt (e.g. sodium alginate), (B) 5-30 wt.% of a gelling reactant consisting preferably of calcium sulfate (e.g. calcium sulfate dihydrate), (C) 0.01-4 wt.% of a gelling regulator, (D) 30-89.8 wt.% of a filler (e.g. diatomaceous earth), (E) 0.01-1.5 (pref. 0.02-1.2) wt.% of dibutylhydroxytoluene, and (F) as necessary, another antioxidant (e.g. vitamin C), polysaccharide(s) (e.g. carrageenan), strain regulator, compatibility improving material, surfactant, another dustproofing agent, colorant, fragrant, etc.
