PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject hair cosmetic that can effectively prevent the hair dyed with an anionic dye from discoloring with high color durability and sustain the hair-conditioning effect for a prolonged time by using chitosan, poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) and the like. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic includes (A) chitosan, for example, with a molecular weight of 20,000-200,000, (B) poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride), for example, with average molecular weight of 10,000-1,000,000, and (C) an organic solvent, for example, benzyl alcohol or the like. In a preferred embodiment, the components A, B and C are formulated to an objective cosmetic by 0.5-10 wt.%, 0.5-10 wt.% and 1-5 wt.%, respectively.
