PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of troubles when an elevator is in failure by providing a recording device to record the sound signal of an intercom by pressing a call button capable of achieving a communication through a telephone cable on the elevator side. SOLUTION: An operation panel 2 is provided in a cage of an elevator, and a car call button 2A, a door opening button 2B, a door closing button 2C and a push button 2E to start an interphone 2D capable of achieving the communication with the outside the cage are arranged therein. A monitoring TV 4 to indicate the image pickup signal and the letter information of a video camera 3 to pick up the image in the cage is installed. In addition, the interphone 2D and the call button 2E are connected to a control device 10 to control each elevator, and to control the transmission/reception of the signal with a monitoring center, and the control device 10 is connected to a recording device 11 to record the sound signal of the interphone 2D and a monitoring center 13 to remotely monitor an abnormality of the elevator through a speaker of a monitoring TV 8 at a landing area and a telephone cable 12, and to communicate with a locked-in passenger in the cage in the failure and request the rescue.
