PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a worker of omission of core taking-out promptly and exactly by outputting remaining core alarming if the presence of an old core is detected by a remaining-core detecting means detecting whether or not an old core remains in a paper storage part using the detection condition of a paper near-end detecting means. SOLUTION: If an old core 31 remains in a depression 27 because a worker failed in taking-out the core in replacing a new roll paper 30 with core, a leaf switch 42 is ON with its weight. Therefore, a remaining-core detecting means makes a paper end detecting means 41 prevent a paper end from being detected as a result of new roll paper 30 with core being stored in a paper storage part 25. The elapsed-time started at that time is equivalent to or less than a preset time, and a paper near-end detecting means 42 detects a paper near-end, therefore the presence of the old core 31 in the depression 27 is detected, if any. As a result, a remaining-core alarm output control means outputs remaining-core alarm.
