PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink-jet recording apparatus capable of preventing printing defect derived from bubble entered into an ink supply path at the time of ink cartridge replacement, without increasing the ink to be wasted. SOLUTION: When an ink cartridge is replaced (ST8), an ink-jet recording apparatus executes an ink vacuuming process (first ink vacuuming process) after the cartridge replacement (ST9). The ink vacuuming amount in the first ink vacuuming process is smaller than the capacity of an ink supply pipe linking a pressure attenuator connected with a recording head, and the ink cartridge. Accordingly, since there is no risk of entrance of bubbles, introduced into the ink supply path from the ink cartridge side at the time of replacing the cartridge, to the ink nozzle by the ink vacuuming process, the printing defect derived from the bubbles, such as idle stroke, can be avoided. |
