PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toilet for a wheelchair user, easy to use whether the user is paralyzed at the right or left side of the body, allowing the wheelchair user to exhibit his potential ability, and reducing the physical burden of a helper. SOLUTION: A stool type toilet 4 is placed to face backward inside a toilet booth 1 and a handrail 5 is provided on the front of the toilet 4. Spaces S1, S2 enabling a wheelchair 3 to get to the right and left of the toilet 4 are formed so that the toilet 4 can be approached from both the right and left. A lateral movement space S enabling the wheelchair 3 to move laterally is formed outside each space and at the back of the toilet 4.
