PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing a child from approaching TV is provided to generate a warning sound when the child alone watches TV at a near distance, thereby protecting the child's sight. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a distance detecting sensor(630) for detecting a distance, a data converter(620), a comparator(610), a micro-computer(500) and a sound processor(300). The data converter converts a distance signal detected from the distance detecting sensor. The comparator compares a converted value output from the data converter with a predetermined value. If the distance signal is larger than the predetermined value, the micro-computer inputs a warning sound producing signal to the sound processor. The sound processor generates a warning sound by the warning sound producing signal. Therefore, the apparatus generates the warning sound whenever the child watches TV at a near distance, thereby protecting the child's sight. |
