METHOD FOR RESTRICTING PROGRAM VIEWING AND RECEIVING APPARATUS WITH VIEWING RESTRICTION FUNCTION

PURPOSE: A viewing restriction method is provided to restrict a user's viewing of a received program according to a viewing restriction class accorded to the program. CONSTITUTION: A code corresponding to a class of a provided program is stored in a memory as a temporary class code of a selected channel whenever a channel is selected. When a channel is selected again, the temporary class code is read. The read temporary class code is compared with a preset class. By the compared result, outputs of audio and video signals are temporarily stopped. Thus, when it is impossible to decode the class code due to standby time or weak electric field occurred in decoding during the channel conversion.
