摘要 PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent a deterioration of a response to an input signal and a deterioration of a focus characteristic by reducing a drive voltage. CONSTITUTION: The color cathode ray tube comprises: a fluorescence plane having a fluorescent layer of three color fluorescent pixels; a shadow mask(6) being a color selection electrode installed adjacent to the fluorescence plane; an electric gun having a first component generating three electric beams and a second component composing of a main lens. The first component includes a cathode(21), a first electrode(22) and a second electrode(23) for shutting the three electric beams in parallel in a direction of the fluorescence plane. The second component includes a plurality of electrodes for focusing the three electric beams on the fluorescence plane. In the case where D(mm) indicates an average diameter of an electric beam penetration hole in the first electrode, where T(mm) indicates a thickness of an electrode plate of an electric beam penetration part in the first electrode, and where B(mm) indicates an interval between an electric beam penetration hole in the first electrode and an electric beam penetration hole in the second electrode, a relationship of D, T and B is expressed by 100A=154B+17 and 1000A=1420B+17, wherein A=0.6, B=0.08 and A=D¬3/T.
