PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel consumption while suppressing generation of odor by partitioning a combustion chamber only through a catalyst or through a catalyst and a baffle plate into an upstream filth chamber and a downstream exhaust gas chamber and conducting mixture gas to the exhaust gas chamber through the filth chamber. SOLUTION: An ejection opening 6 for distributing premixed gas is disposed in a combustion chamber 5 on the downstream of a throat 4. A catalyst 7 comprising a ceramic honeycomb basic material carrying a platinum based noble metal is arranged horizontally in the downstream region of the combustion chamber 5 and a filth container 8 is arranged oppositely to the upstream side face of the catalyst 7 in parallel therewith. The filth container 8 is provided, at the circumferential part thereof, with a large number of conduction openings 9 so that the premixed gas flows from the ejection opening 6 through the circumference of filth 10 placed on the filth container 8 into the conduction openings and arrives at the upstream face of the catalyst 7. More specifically, the combustion chamber 5 defines an upstream filth chamber and a downstream exhaust chamber by means of the catalyst 7 and a baffle plate. According to the structure, fuel consumption can be reduced while suppressing generation of odor.
