PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare the subject emulsion composition excellent in corrosion resistance and black discoloration resistance on the surface of a galvanized iron sheet and hardly eluting chromium therefrom by including a copolymer obtained through copolymerizing an ethylenic unsaturated monomer with an acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate and other ethylenically unsaturated monomer. SOLUTION: This emulsion composition is prepared by including copolymer particles obtained through copolymerizing (A) 1-30 wt.% ethylenic unsaturated monomer of formula I [R1a-R1c, R11, R12, R21, R22, R31 and R32 are each H, methyl, or the like; (n1)-(n3) are each 1-6; (m1)-(m3) are each 0-30 and (m1)+(m2)+(m3) is 1-30] with (B) 1-30 wt.% acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate of formula II and (C) 98-40 wt.% other ethylenically unsaturated monomer.
