PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device to be safe and excellent in operability, in control of an automatic transmission to control a speed change through manual operation. SOLUTION: A range selecting device 9 to switch a drive range to perform automatic speed change operation and a manual range to provide a specified speed through manual operation by a driver is arranged on the side of a driver's seat 1. When an automatic transmission mechanism being the original function of an automatic transmission is provided, the drive range is selected through operation of a range selection lever. This operation performs automatic speed change operation according to a preset speed change map. When manual operation is effected, the manual range is selected through operation of the range selection lever, a transmission is manually operated by operating a shift up button switch 10 or a shift down button switch 11 mounted on the spoke 6 of a steering mechanism 4.
