PURPOSE: The method and apparatus for preparing data on tool moving path, and machining method and system is to set in accordance with the shape of the three dimensional curved plane to be produced and to reduce with a high machining precision maintained in comparison with a case where the data on a tool moving path are prepared on the basis of sequence of points data comprising a plurality of tool passing points. CONSTITUTION: A tool restraining curved panel(12) which is spaced from a three dimensional curved plane(22) to be produced by a distance corresponding to a radius of a rotary working tool(20) in the direction of the normal of the plane is set, and a curved plane(32) for restraining a path, along which the rotary working tool(20) is moved, in accordance with the shape of the three dimensional curved plane(22) is set, a cross line of these curved(34) planes being determined as a three dimensional curve expression, whereby data on a tool moving path are prepared. Since an arbitrary curved plane can be set as the path restraining curved plane(32) in this manner, the degree of freedom of setting a tool moving path becomes higher.
