PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chisel type laser probe capable of emitting a laser beam with almost uniform energy intensity toward the ridge of a distal end. SOLUTION: This chisel type laser probe 50 has tapered faces (reflecting faces 56) toward a distal end 58. The at least one of the reflecting faces has a V-shaped groove 60 approximately in its center along its cross direction, the groove 60 extending approximately in the direction of a major axis and having a U-shaped, arcuate, or semicircular cross section. A laser beam that impinges from a rear end 62 is deflected horizontally when impinging on the groove 60. As a result, the laser beam emitted from the distal end 58 shows an almost uniform energy distribution. |
