PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control member lower in cost and effective for reducing vibration to large, intermediate and small earthquake and strong wind. SOLUTION: A viscoelastic material 3 is installed on the surface of a cruciform cross sectional steel material 1 and four L-shaped steel materials 2 are incorporated in the reentrant angle part of the viscous and elastic material 3. The cruciform cross sectional steel material 1 and the L-shaped steel material 2 contact each other via only the viscoelastic material 3, with one end of the cruciform cross sectional steel material 1 and one end of the L-shaped steel material 2, located opposite thereto, slantly joined to the beam or column of a structure in mutually bracing material arrangement.
