Granular thermoplastic roofing surface

Roofing material based on a layer of thermoplastic sheet covered with a layer of (elongated) granules or pellets of a similar compatible thermoplastic material heat bonded to the surface. Pref. the granules are 0.3-4 mm dia. and slightly softer than the base film. The granules protect the base film from the effects of sunshine and footprints as pebbles are used to protect bitumen, are less slippery to walk on than a smooth surface, esp. when wet. Granules can be used to create colour or texture variations. Esp. applicable to use of plasticized PVC or polyvinylacetate materials.
