METHOD OF TREATING HEART FAILURE WITH ENDOTHELIN ANTAGONISTS

PURPOSE: A prevention and/or treatment of heart failure with compounds that are endothelin antagonists is provided. CONSTITUTION: This method involves a method of preventing and/or treating heart failure and ventricular dysfunction in a warm blooded animal which comprises administering to the warm blooded animal in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of an endothelic antagonist of the formula(I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. Figure7a shows the effect of cumulative intravenous bolus injections of ET (Endothelin)-1 on mean arterial pressure before and after intravenous administration to Compound 1(Endothelin antagonist). ET-1 induced significant dose-dependent increase in mean arterial pressure.
