PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil-in-water type emulsion of the subject composition, capable of providing a heat-sensitive recording unit excellent in recording and traveling properties and preservability of a heat-sensitive recording unit before and after the color development, and excellent in operability and environmental conservation by including a specific resin and a specified hydrophilic resin. SOLUTION: This oil-in-water type emulsion of the subject composition comprises (A) 2-80 wt.% resin having one or more ethylenically unsaturated groups in the molecule, preferably in a liquid state at a normal temperature, (B) 4-3 wt.% hydrophilic resin of the formula [R is H or a 1-25C alkyl; (n) is >=1 in average], preferably having >=80 wt.% ethylene oxide group in the molecule, (C) 0-50 wt.% filler, preferably having about 0.01-5 μm average particle diameter (measured by a BET method about the particles having <=1 μm diameters, and a sedimentation method about the particles having >1 μm particle diameters), (D) 0.01-10 wt.% polymerized wax having 87-100 deg.C softening point. Acrylates are preferable as the component B, and an inorganic filler is preferable as the component C. |
