PURPOSE: A method for recovering call cut off is provided to maximally exclude call cut off circumstances when a hand off message is lost between mobile and base stations. CONSTITUTION: A code division multiple access(CDMA) system comprises at least two base stations(6, 8) and at least one mobile station(10) which is connected to the base stations. A method for recovering call cut off in CDMA system includes the steps of detecting whether a hand off message is lost, and composing a prepared active station set. The prepared active station set due to the hand off message loss is conformed to active station set of the mobile station. The subsequent hand off process is performed by utilizing the prepared active station set. Accordingly, when hand off message is lost between mobile and base stations in CDMA system, the call cut off can be recovered without affecting the subsequent hand off process.
