PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily fit fixedly a runner to floors of both sides of a column or a ceiling through connection metal fittings, or carry runners cut in a specified standard length in advance into the site and connect them through the connection metal fittings or fix them to the floor or the ceiling while finely adjusting the position. SOLUTION: In this partition wall structure for a building, runners 8 are connected between a plurality of columns 4 erected at every specified distance. In this case, a connection metal fitting 5 composed of two split type main bodies 6 so as to hold the column 4 from both sides is fixed to a floor face 1 or a ceiling, and the end of the runner 8 is connected to the main bodies 6 of the connection metal fittings 5 through screws or the like.
