PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by a method wherein the lower part of a connecting steel pipe is inserted into a hollow part at a pile head and fixed with the hollow part filled with infillings such as mortar, and the upper part of the connecting steel pipe is anchored down in footing concrete. SOLUTION: A number of protuberances 5 serving as shear connectors are provided in projection at the internal face at a hollow part of a steel pipe pile 1 and the external face of a connecting steel pipe 2 for improving adhesion to mortar 3 or the like and concrete of a footing 4. Then, after the lower part of the connecting steel pipe 2 is inserted into the hollow part at the head of the steel pipe pile 1 driven into the ground, the inside of the connecting steel pipe 2 and a gap between the connecting steel pipe 2 and the steel pipe pile 1 are infilled with mortar 3 or the like such as concrete and fixation is made therewith. Then, concrete for the footing 4 is placed, with reinforcements arranged, at the upper part of the steel pipe pile 1 so that the connecting steel pipe 2 projecting beyond the head of the steel pipe pile 1 can be buried. The upper parts of the connecting steel pipes projecting beyond the head of the adjoining steel pipe piles 1 may be connected with connecting structural steels. Thereby, workability can be improved.
