PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately support a work without causing tilt toward a mandrel even if the work end is remained with mill scales on it, with regard to a device positioning the work and supporting it by journalling the mandrel to be inserted into a central hole in the work to a tail stock of the cylindrical grinding machine and also providing a stopper for making the work end abut on the tail stock. SOLUTION: It is made to have a stopper 6 journalled to a tail stock 1 through a spherical coupling 9 in an oscillating manner and tilt by copying the tilt of the work end We to the axis orthogonal surface. The spherical center O of the spherical coupling 9 is wade to conform to the intersection Q of a plane (a) including an abutting part 6a of the stopper 6 on the work W and a center axis line (b).
