COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SODIUM PERCARBONATE

PURPOSE: Detergent compositions containing specific sodium percarbonate and zeolite, and method for selecting the sodium percarbonate are provided to improve the stability of sodium percarbonate. CONSTITUTION: The compositions contains zeolite and sodium percarbonate which intrinsically has a mean particle size of 500-1000 micrometer and not more than 20% by weight at below 350 micrometer and has a moisture pick-up of not greater than 30g/1000g when measured with a sample in a test at 80% relative humidity and 32°C after 24 hours. The sodium percarbonate is selected by measuring the particle size distribution; measuring the mean particle size and the part of below 350 micrometer by weight; removing the material having a mean particle size of greater than 500-1000 micrometer or not less than 20% by weight at below 350 micrometer; measuring the range in which moisture is picked-up when measured in a test at 80% relative humidity and 32°C after 24 hours; and removing the material picking-up moisture greater than 30g per 1000g of material. The sodium percarbonate exhibits a tendency to decompose in detergent compositions built with zeolites.
