PURPOSE: A refrigerator having a mist generator, a mist generating fan and a mist circulation duct is provided to keep the freshness of food in cold storage. CONSTITUTION: A mist generator controlling method comprises the steps of:selecting data table of the amount of mist according to the drive of a mist generator; turning on and off the operation of the mist generator at a certain period of hour; producing the accumulated value of the mist up to the present according to the selected data table; judging if the produced accumulated value of the mist is more than a predetermined critical value; and stopping the control of the amount of the mist after turning off the operation of the mist generator.
