OPTICAL FIBER HAVING LOW NONLINEAR EFFECT FOR WAVE DIVISION MULTIPLEXING TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING

PURPOSE: An optical fiber is provided to decrease nonlinear effect which worsen the quality of transmitting and receiving in standard receiving/transmitting optical fiber of specific condition. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber of low non linearity coefficient gamma and high effective cross section includes glass inner core of radius r1, scattering ratio a, first maximum difference of refraction ratio delta n1; first glass layer surrounding the inner core and having outer radius r2, difference of refraction ratio delta n2 (delta n1); core region including second glass layer and having width w, second maximum difference of refraction ratio delta n3 bigger than delta n1; and low loss cladding surrounding the core region. In the optical fiber, the gamma is less than 2W¬-1K¬-1 and delta n2 is less than the 10% of delta n3 in absolute value.
