PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce stress and prevent a modification of a curved apertured portion. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a vacuum envelop including a panel portion, a neck portion and a funnel portion coupling the plane portion and the neck portion; a shadow mask including a curved apertured portion, a curved perforate portion and a peripheral skirt portion; a supporting frame for attaching the shadow mask by spot-welding the peripheral skirt portion to the shadow mask in the panel portion; a fluorescent layer formed inside surface of the panel portion; an electron gun equipped in the neck portion; and a deflecting yoke. The shadow mask includes a descending step portion extended through an external edge of the perforate portion. The peripheral skirt portion comprises a plurality of beads formed by curving from an external edge of the descending step portion, extended to a high direction of the peripheral skirt portion, and protruded from each side of the peripheral skirt portion to an inside.
