PURPOSE: A stereo selectivity reducing method of carbonyl compound is provided to stereo selectively reduce carbonyl compound into the corresponding optical active alcohol, to produce protein dissolving enzyme restrainer useful for the cure of HIV. CONSTITUTION: Carbonyl compound is reduced into optical active alcohol by contacting the compound containing carbonyl radical having chiral center and prochiral carbon atom with Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley mediator for under 4 hours which is enough time for generating the optical active alcohol; MVP mediator exists under the amount of chemical amount theory and the hydrogen and all the performances are performed under strong acid.
