PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly sniff the fragrance of a stored article by providing a means to check the fragrance comprising a cut in a wall part of a container, and forming a communication part to communicate the inside of the container with its outside between a pressing side wall part and a pressed side wall part in pressing either wall part partitioned by the cut. SOLUTION: A semi-circular cut 5 is formed in an upper surface (wall part) of a lid body 4 to constitute a fragrance checking means, a plurality of incense sticks are stored in a container body 3, and a container 1 is displayed over the counter with the lid body 4 covered thereon. When a customer having the container 1 in hand presses a pressed part 7 by his thumb 8, a communication part 10 to communicate the inside of the container 1 with its outside is formed between the pressed part 7 and a part 9 which is located opposite to the pressed part 7 across the cut 5 and not pressed. Since the customer can directly sniff the fragrance of the incense sticks stored in the container 1 by bringing his nose close to the communication part 10, the incense sticks can be rapidly and correctly selected. A commodity based on the fragrance can be correctly selected.
