PAPER ROLL MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paper roll manufacturing facilities that remove a defective outermost layer of paper from a shipping roll kept on a roll rotating device automatically or with no direct operations by winder operators, and that in a shorter period than by manual operations. SOLUTION: The paper roll manufacturing facilities include a roll rotating device 5 disposed downstream of a winder to hold a shipping roll 8 wound by the winder rotatable, and a defective outermost layer removing device 6 disposed on the roll discharge side of the roll rotating device 5 and having a paper tearing unit 17 adapted to reciprocate across the shipping roll 8 laterally. A defective outermost paper layer is removed from the shipping roll 8 by the paper tearing unit 17 of the defective outermost layer removing device 6 moved to cut the layer and by the roll rotating device 5 rotating the shipping roller 8.
