PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for coating, capable of providing a coating membrane excellent in smoothness of the membrane from the thick one to the thin one, and further excellent in durability, and useful for a coating material or the like by including each specific fluorine-containing amide compound and polymer, and a fluorine-based surfactant as essential components. SOLUTION: This composition for coating consists essentially of (A) a fluorine-based surfactant such as a compound of the formula CnF2n+1SO3H [(n) is 4-8], preferably in an amount of 1-350 pts.wt., (B) a fluorine-containing amide compound of formula I Rf is a 4-20C perfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkenyl; Q is formulas II or III, or the like; R1 and R2 are each H, a 1-20C alkyl, (CH2CH2 O)m-R3, or formula IV [(m) and (n) are each 1-20; R3 is H or a 1-6C alkyl]}, preferably in an amount of 0.01-200 pts.wt. and (C) a polymer having >=500 number average molecular weight such as a polyolefin.
