PURPOSE: A method and a device are provided to automatically measure the density of a sodium ion flowed during the producing process of a benzene polycarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: exhausting a precipitated solid trough a drain pipe(12) by introducing a sample to a settler(10); exhausting the precipitated solid through a drain pipe(22) by introducing a sample by a curved cooler(20); inputting an alkali solvent through an alkali solvent input pipe(31); melting a residual solid by introducing the inputted the alkali solvent and the sample flowed from the cooler(20) into a mixer(30); removing a complex compound formed by reacting a metal ion inside the sample with the alkali solvent by passing the sample to a complex compound filter(40); and measuring the sample flowed from the filter by a sodium ion measuring device.
