PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the tolerance of the temperature condition fluctuation of bar code heat transfer and decrease a defective product by applying crimp machining with specific surface roughness to the surface of a spool flange before a bar code is transferred. SOLUTION: When a presser head 152 is pressed, the foil of a root wound roll is kept in contact with the face of the flange 2 of a spool 1, and the lower face of the flange 2 is closely stuck to the face of a receiver 161 advanced at a gap from the lower face, and a hot stamp is applied. The spool 1 is sunk by a proper quantity against a spring 135 while being held by the holder of first and second mount sections 133, 134. The maximum surface roughness of the crimp on the flange face of the spool 1 is set to 20-35μm. The tolerance of the temperature condition fluctuation of bar code heat transfer is increased, and a defective product can be reduced.
