PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embroider an embroidery pattern by dividing it even when the embroidery pattern with a dimension exceeding an area which can be sewn by a sewing device is used and to avoid to the utmost that joints of divided embroidery pattern become clear. SOLUTION: When a processing for forming embroidery data is started, at first, shape data of each partial pattern of an embroidery pattern are inputted (S1) and a unit embroidery region is set based on the shape data (S2). Then, the partial patterns are distributed to each unit embroidery region to form the embroidery data (S4-S8). On the other hand, those partial patterns that can not be distributed into the unit embroidery region are divided and embroidery data on every unit embroidery region are formed (S9).
