PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a distal end small without worsening its operability. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic endoscope 1 has a hard part 3 at a distal end of an insertion portion 2 and an integrally joined sheath 4 is provided at the distal end of the hard part 3. In the sheath 4, an ultrasonic vibrator 5 is disposed while being freely rotationally connected to a flexible shaft 6 through which the insertion portion 2 and the hard part 3 are passed, and an ultrasonic transfer medium 7 is packed in the sheath 4. The hard part 3 has a built-in magnetic source 8 generating magnetic fields in the directions of, e.g. two mutually perpendicular axes.
