PURPOSE: A pre-amplification device is provided to freely adjust a gain of a color signal used to display a picture on a monitor. CONSTITUTION: The pre-amplification device comprises: a level detector(10) for detecting a level of a first gain set signal to output an analog signal of the detected level; a gain controller(12) for generating a second gain set signal corresponding to the analog signal in response to a control signal; and a gain amplifier(14) for amplifying the color signal with a predetermined gain in response to the second gain set signal and outputting the amplified color signal, wherein the first gain set signal is generated during a predetermined period of a horizontal synchronous signal in an initial state of a monitor, according to an amplification rate of the color signal; and wherein the control signal is generated according to whether a gain of the color signal is set or whether the color signal is amplified.
