<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively produce gut having a soft ball hitting feel such as natural gut or gut using multifilaments, by forming the core yarn of the gut to the hardness higher than the hardness of peripheral yarn and forming the peripheral yarn of synthetic resin monofilaments. SOLUTION: This gut 1 for racket is formed by arranging plural pieces of the peripheral yarn 3 on the periphery of the core yarn 2 and applying a resin coating 4 on the circumference over the entire part. The core yarn 2 is formed of a material having the hardness higher than the hardness of the peripheral yarn 3, for which, for example, synthetic fibers of polyester, etc. or metallic fibers of a stainless steel, etc., more preferably monofilaments, are used. The hollow synthetic resin monofilaments are used for the peripheral yarn 3. The dimameter A of the core yarn 2 is preferably 40 to 60% of the diameter D of the gut 1. The diameter (outside diameter) B of the peripheral yarn 3 is preferably 15 to 30% of the diameter D of the gut 1.
