PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing 2,4,6-triphenyl-1-hexene, especially a styrene trimer among styrene oligomers. SOLUTION: This production of 2,4,6-triphenyl-1-hexene is to react benzalacetophenone with a Grignard reagent prepared from a 2-haloethylbenzene and magnesium to obtain 3,5-diphenylvalerophenone, which is successively reacted with a Wittig reagent (e.g. triphenylphosphonium methylide).
