REEMULSIFIABLE POLYMER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a (co)polymer having a reemulsification function in water at pH>=5 by constituting particles of a core/shell structure in which at least one part of a specific core surface is coated with a prescribed shell. SOLUTION: This (co)polymer is composed of particles having a core/shell structure in which at least a part of core of (B) a (co)polymer having (b) >=0 wt.% and <40 wt.% repeating unit selected from (i) a repeating unit containing a pendant group of formula I (R1 and R2 are each H, a 1-12C alkyl or the like) and (ii) a repeating unit containing a pendant group of formula II (R3 is a 1-30 alkylene or the like) as a repeating unit is coated with a shell of (A) a (co)polymer having (a) >=20 wt.% and <100 wt.% reaping unit selected from the component (i) and the component (ii) as a repeating unit. The amount of the component A is 15-85 wt.% and that of the component B is 85-15 wt.% based on the total of the components A and B. The content of the component (a) is higher than that of the component (b).
