PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a relieving agent for myalgia, stiffness and tensity of muscle for oral ingestion by including branched chain amino acids. SOLUTION: This relieving agent is obtained by including branched chain amino acids containing (A) leucine, (B) isoleucine and (C) valine as active ingredients so as to provide preferably 1:2:1 formulating ratio of the ingredients A:B:C. When the branched chain amino acids are orally ingested, the daily dose thereof for an adult is preferably about 500-2,000 mg expressed in terms of the active ingredients and ingested in divided one to several portions to thereby provide desired effects without adverse effects. The breakdown of muscles is suppressed by ingesting a branched chain amino acid formulated preparation before motion. Since the branched chain amino acids promote the muscular metabolism and hydrolysis of myoproteins, the branched chain amino acids are directly degraded and oxidized in peripheral muscular tissues to afford an energy source. Thereby, the restoration of the muscles can be carried out and the branched chain amino acids are useful even for treating stiffness of shoulders.
