PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decide the number of broadcast information sets and a broadcast period in a practical time where a client can reduce a wait time till desired information is acquired. SOLUTION: A broadcast data selection device 31 selects broadcast data from a 2nd database 37 in the order of a higher access rate as D1, D2, D3,...Dk (suffixes 1, 2, 3,..., k are assigned sequentially in the order of a higher access rate). Remaining Fi (broadcast frequency of Di for one broadcast period T) except F1 (broadcast frequency of D1 for one broadcast period T), that is, processing that values of F2, F3, F4, F5,..., Fk are all set to '1' is continued till an expected value W of a wait time is minimum. The sum of the values of F1, F2, F3, F4, F5,..., Fk when the expected value W is minimum is decided to be '1' (the total slot number assigned for the transmission of the broadcast data D1-Dk). The total slot number (T-1) assigned for transmission of on- demand data is simultaneously decided. |
