PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device which can be made compact. SOLUTION: In the projection type display device 1, a power source unit 7 being comparatively large among components is constituted of a first and a second smaller power source blocks 7A and 7B. Then, the blocks 7A and 7B are arranged so as to be mutually separated. Thus, since a dead space is hardly formed in the device 1 because the blocks 7A and 7B are efficiently arranged in the device 1, the device 1 can be made compact.
