PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image persistence and to well display images. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer 7 which is disposed between a pair of substrates, transparent electrodes 8 which are formed to a band form in the intra-surface direction of the liquid crystal layer 7 and impress voltage to the liquid crystal layer 7 and spacers 16 which has conductivity, are disposed in the liquid crystal layer 7 and maintain the spacing between a pair of the substrates at a prescribed value. The spacers 16 are electrically connected to the transparent electrodes 8.
