PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor which is constituted in such a way that a stator can be fixed to a bracket in a small space with a high fixing strength and the bearings can be secured with high fixing strengths and high accuracy. SOLUTION: An attaching piece section 8c which is protruded inward from the inner peripheral surface side of a stator 8 which is concentrically arranged to a fixed shaft 2 erected on the central base section 10a of a bracket 10 is formed to the stator 8. The stator 8 is attached to the bracket 10 by caulking the attaching piece section 8c to the outer peripheral corner section of the base section 10a. Therefore, the stator 8 can be fixed to the bracket 10 with a high fixing strength in a small space without using an adhesive. In addition, the inner cylindrical wall section 12b of a rotor hub 12 is extended to the space produced when the attaching piece section 8c is caulked to the corner section and holds the whole outer peripheral surface of a lower bearing 4.
