PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separated head image pickup system where an image can be selected in response to a desired purpose among those images which are outputted from plural image pickup devices with no time nor labor required for exchanging these pickup devices and the disturbance in images can be prevented when these images are switched to each other. SOLUTION: An image pickup device 100 includes an image pickup element 103 which outputs the image pickup signals, one or more 1st connectors 124 which connect the device 100 to a 2nd camera part 200, a 2nd connector 107 which connects the device 100 to a video processing part, and a switch 123 which switches the image pickup signals sent from the element 103 or the image pickup signals inputted via the connectors 124 and outputs these signals via the connector 107. It's desirable to add a synchronizing means to synchronize the clock signal of the part 200 with that of the device 100.
