PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having a high capacity and long lifetime. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery is provided with a negative electrode 6, including the carbonaceous material for storing and discharging lithium ion, and the carbonaceous material includes an element M of at least one kind of element to be selected among Mg, Al, Si, Ca, Sn and Pb, and an X-ray intensity ratio (I) of the carbon in relation to the X-ray intensity of the element M at the time of measuring the cross section thereof, in a field of view at 10×10 μm with an electron probe for microanalyzer(EPMA) satisfy the formula 0.7X<=I<=1.3X, in which X is expressed by the formula X=(100-n) m/cn. |
